Con 18 años y finalizados sus estudios de Bachiller Amaya Fernández Blanco se matriculó en la escuela de Técnica de la Indumentaria Goymar Vigo donde cursaría Estilismo y coordinación de moda, Patronaje y Escalador. Después ampliaría su formulación con cursos de personal shopper y escaparatismo.
With 18 years and completed her Bachelor studies, Amaya Fernández Blanco join to the School of Design Goymar Vigo where she studied Styling, fashion coordination, pattern and Scale. After it extended her training with courses of personal shopper and window dressing.
En la actualidad trabaja como estilista para distintos fotógrafos y proyectos como el de la Nueva Joyeria Suiza. En un breve espacio de tiempo ha participado activamente como estilista del certamen de Miss y Mister Pontevedra en 2010, 2011 y 2012, la Pasarela de comerciantes de O Barco y presentacion de vinos de mano de la empresa Galicia de Moda, además de participar en concursos como la Muestra del Encaje de Camariñas en 2008, la edición pasada de la GFW y la pasarela Torre De Hércules donde recibió el 2º PREMIO, con el que pudo mostrar su colección MSV en la pasada edición de Daisy Market de A Coruña.
She currently works as a stylist for some photographers and projects such as the New Joyería Suiza . In a short time has participated as a stylist in the contest of Miss and Mister Pontevedra in 2010, 2011 and 2012, the traders catwalk O Barco, the presentation of wines for the enterprise Galicia de Moda and participated in competitions such as a Mostra do Encaixe de Camariñas in 2008, the last edition of the GFW and the Catwalk Tower of Hercules where she received the second Prize, where she could show her collection MSV in the last edition of Daisy Market of A Coruña.
Fue galardonada con dos premios de la pasarela PTL Vigo Recicla: el 2º premio al mejor estilismo con posibilidad de comercialización y el 1º premio al mejor complemento los últimos premios conseguidos han sido con su última colección Guijarros ganando el 1º premio al mejor estilismo.
She received two awards from the catwalk PTL Vigo Recycle, the second prize for the best outfit with market posibility and the first award for best accesory, the recent awards achieved have been with her latest collection Guijarros winning the first prize for the best styling.

-Amaya, cuéntanos ¿cómo empezaste en el universo de la moda?
Creo que es algo que me ha gustado desde niña, y la verdad no recuerdo muy bien el momento exacto en el que me intereso la moda. Pero si supe desde niña que era a lo que queria dedicar mi tiempo viendo a mi madre dedicarle tantas horas y dedicacion a la costura supe, que queria estudiar y en cuanto tuve la oportunidad, asi lo hice, en la escuela Goymar Vigo, que por otra parte me ayudaron a darme cuenta de que realmente esta era la profesion a la que me gustaria dedicarme y la que realmente me hace feliz .
-Amaya, tell us how you started in the world of fashion?
I think it's something that I liked since i was a child, and i don't remember very well the exact moment in which I was interested in fashion. I spent my childhood watching my mother spend many hours and dedication to sewing , i knew what I wanted to study and when I had the chance, i did it in the prestigiou school of Design Goymar Vigo, where they helped me realize that , it was really the profession to which I would like to dedicate my life and what it really makes me happy.
-¿A qué tipo de mujer viste Amaya Fernández Blanco?¿Cuál es tu leit motiv?
Para mí, lo más importante es la persona individual, conocer realmente a la persona que vistes y poder adaptar mis creaciones a la personalidad de cada mujer, creo que el estudio de los gustos y de la personalidad de las mujeres de hoy en dia es un gran punto de inspiracion y un leit motiv.
- What kind of woman wears Amaya Fernández Blanco • What is your leit motiv?
For me, the most important thing is the individual person, to really know the person that i dress with my creations and to adapt to the personality of each woman, I believe that the study of the tastes and personality of women today is a great point of inspiration and leit motiv.
-¿Cómo es tu proceso creativo?
Siempre parto de un punto claro, y desde ahí empiezo la información y el proceso creativo basándome en un estudio más profundo del tema, es sorprendente la inspiración que se puede llegar a extraer de las cosas que parecen más simples. generalmente me suele suceder que cuando termino una colección ya tengo claro como va a ser la siguiente, me encantaría que el dia tuviese más horas para poder dedicarle más tiempo.
- What is your creative process?
I always start with a clear point, and from there i begin the information and the creative process based on a deeper study of the subject, it's amazing that you can get inspiration from the simple things. I usually know when i finish a collection how will be the next collection, I'd love have more hours to spend more time in my work.
-¿Qué materiales usas en tus colecciones?
Los materiales son una de las partes más importantes de los procesos de creación en las colecciones, gracias a los materiales utilizados podemos mostrar muchas veces las sensaciones que queremos trasmitir.
- What materials do you use in your collections?
Materials are one of the most important parts of the process of creating the collections, thanks to the material , we can show many times the feelings what we want to convey .
- ¿Cómo es Amaya Fernández en su día a día?
Tengo la suerte de levantarme muy activa y organizo mi trabajo según los plazos de entrega de cada colección o encargo personal, por lo que mi día a día se adapta a cumplir mis obligaciones y disfrutar del tiempo que me queda disponible. Soy una persona curiosa, exigente conmigo misma y muy positiva.
- How is Amaya Fernández in her day to day?
I have the luck to get up very active and organized my work according to the delivery time of each collection or personal request, so I adapt my day to day to meet my obligations and enjoy the time that I have available. I am a curious person, demanding with myself and very positive.
- En el vigo recicla trabajaste con materiales reciclados ¿repetirías?
Sin dudarlo ni un momento, no siempre tenemos la oportunidad de tener ese tipo de materiales al alcance de la mano, ha sido un regalo para mi el poder disponer de esa diversidad y cantidad. Incluso para mi ha sido revelador, en el sentido de que no descartaria el hacer una coleccion de este tipo de materiales.
- In the "Vigo Recicla "you worked with materials recycled. Would you like to repeat?
Without hesitating for a moment, I don't always have the opportunity to have such material to hand, it has been a gift for me to be able to have that diversity and quantity. Even for me it was revealing, in the sense that it wouldn't rule out to make a collection of these materials.
- Has colaborado con la firma de sastrería de caballero Dorego & Novoa ¿ Cómo fue la experiencia?
Toda experiencia es buena, poder aprender y poner en practica cosas nuevas de una parte del sector como es el caballero, es algo que creo que me ha enriquecido en el ambito laboral y que ademas puedo extrapolar a mis creaciones propias.
Como los caballeros son menos atrevidos que las mujeres a los cambios en la moda, aprendí que los cambios sutiles en solapas, puños ... tienen una gran importancia a la hora de marcar tendencias en las colecciones lo que además es apreciado por el cliente.
- You've collaborated with the menswear tailoring brand Dorego & Novoa. How was the experience?
All experience is good, being able to learn and put into practice new things from one part of the sector such as the man, is something I think has enriched me in the field work and I can also extrapolate to my creations.
As men are less daring than women to changes in fashion, I learned that subtle changes in lapels, cuffs ... are of great importance when it comes to setting trends in the collections what is hugely appreciated by the client.
-Moda para la mujer real o moda creativa y espectacular, ¿con cuál te quedas y por qué?
Me quedo con la mezcla de las dos, para mi la moda que no es para la mujer real, no es moda. No pretendo hacer moda de exposicion o solo de exposicion. Los más importante es que la mujer pueda sentirse agusto con lo que lleva puesto de la mañana a la noche.
-Fashion for real women or creative and spectacular fashion, Which one do you like and why?
I prefer the mixture of the two, for me the fashion which isn't for real women, it isn't fashion. I don't pretend to make fashion exhibition or exhibition only. The most important is that women can feel comfortable with what they wear from morning to night.

- Este año desfilaste en la Galicia Fashion Week con mucho éxito. Cuéntanos más sobre esta experiencia.
Mi participacion en la GFW, es una experiencia que me ha permitido conocer a gente nueva y enriquecerme.
La GFW es una puerta abierta al mundo, en el que se nos permite mostrar nuestras colecciones y darte cuenta de que la soledad del mundo de la moda no es tanta, ya que todos los participantes tenemos las mismas preocupaciones e inquietudes.
- This year you have shown your collection in Galicia Fashion Week with great success. Tell us more about this experience.
My participation in the GFW, it was an experience which has allowed me to meet new people and enrich me.
The GFW is a Gateway to the world, which allows us to showcase our collections and realize that the loneliness of the fashion world it isn't so, and that all participants have the same worries and concerns.
- ¿En qué se inspira tu colección Guijarros Primavera-verano 2013 ?
Como su propio nombre indica para mi la coleccion guijarros, es la comparación de la mujer al cauce de un rio, en el que la siluetas y la sinuosidad sean posiblemente las partes más importantes y destacables de la colección.
- What inspired your collection Guijarros for this Spring-Summer 2013?
As its name suggests for me the Guijarros collection, is the comparison of women in the riverbed, in which the sinuosity and the silhouettes are possibly the most important highlights of the collection.
-Y para terminar, ¿cómo ves tú la moda española y qué te gustaría aportar con tus colecciones?
Para mi la moda Española, es una moda de calidad muy cuidada y pensada para las mujeres de hoy, mi aportacion al sector es otro punto de vista nuevo a los que ya existen.
-And finally, how do you see Spanish fashion and what would you like to add with your collections?
For me the spanish fashion has a very careful quality and design for women of today, my contribution to the sector is another new point of view to the existing ones.
