Let me be ....CHic!

Todo comenzó cuando Mikael Colville Andersen (Director y fotógrafo) subió una foto a internet, que originó el fotoblog Copenhagen Cycle Chic. Desde ese momento, cada semana, cuelga una instantánea en la que aparecen ciclistas elegantes, rodando por la capital danesa. Tacones, sombreros, pantalones cortos o minifaldas mezclados con pedales.

It all started when Mikael Colville Andersen (Director and Photographer) uploaded a photo to the Internet, which originated the photoblog Copenhagen Cycle Chic. Since then, every week, hangs a snapshot in which cyclists are elegant,rolling on the Danish capital. Heels, hats, shorts or miniskirts mixed with pedals.

Las imágenes crearon tal revuelo que en poco tiempo el concepto transcendió y la industria de la moda lo incorporó a su lenguaje.

The images created such a stir that soon transcended the concept and the fashion industry included it in his language

Numerosas ciudades han seguido esta tendencia como New York, Barcelona, Madrid, Londres... Cycle CHic es una mezcla  de moda, cultura y deporte.

Many cities have followed this trend as New York, Barcelona, Madrid, London ... Cycle Chic is a mixture of fashion, culture and sport.

Longchamp nos muestra este año para su colección Otoño/ Invierno  2012 una campaña muy Chic y divertida. En OH MY BIKE! la marca utiliza el concepto CYcle Chic, demostrando que las bicicletas también son para el invierno.

Longchamp shows this year for their the Autumn / Winter COllection  2012 a campaign chic and fun. in OH MY BIKE! The brand uses the Cycle Chic concept, demonstrating that the bikes are also for the winter.

Los más prestigiosos fotógrafos de moda, han realizado sesiones con modelos montando en bicicleta.

The most prestigious fashion photographers,  have held sessions with models cycling.

Las bicicletas se customizan y se adaptan a las tendencias de la temporada.

Bicycles are available to customize and adapt to the trends of the season

Numerosas firmas como la Española Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Chanel, Gucci o Dolce Gabanna se han unido al movimiento.

Many brands like  the spanish Agatha Ruiz dela Prada, Chanel, Gucci and Dolce Gabanna have joined the movement.

The Chanel bike was a proposal for Spring/Summer 2008 .  Coco Chanel loved sports.

La bicicleta de Chanel fue una propuesta para la primavera/verano 2008. A Coco Chanel le encantaban los deportes.

Ever since Chanel & Gucci came out with their versions, I am all of the sudden dying for a new bike!!!  ;)

Desde que Gucci y Chanel lanzaron sus versiones . Quiero una bicicleta nueva! ;)

The Copenhaguen Cycle Chic Manifesto

-I choose to cycle chic and, at every opportunity, I will choose Style over Speed.

- I embrace my responsibility to contribute visually to a more aesthetically pleasing urban landscape.

- I am aware that my mere prescence in said urban landscape will inspire others without me being labelled as a 'bicycle activist'.

- I will ride with grace, elegance and dignity.

- I will choose a bicycle that reflects my personality and style.

- I will, however, regard my bicycle as transport and as a mere supplement to my own personal style. Allowing my bike to upstage me is unacceptable.

- I will endeavour to ensure that the total value of my clothes always exceeds that of my bicycle.

- I will accessorize in accordance with the standards of a bicycle culture and acquire, where possible, a chain guard, kickstand, skirt guard, fenders, bell and basket.

- I will respect the traffic laws.

- I will refrain from wearing and owning any form of 'cycle wear'.

Y recuerda que lo importante no es el destino , sino disfrutar del viaje... Así que... vamos a montar en bici!! ;)

 And remember that what is important is not the destination but enjoy the journey...So.... Let's go ride a bike!! ;)
