What do you wear to bed?

How many times have you remembered a person, a place or a situation in the past, just to smell certain aroma? The perfume like the dress, hairstyle or makeup is part of the image of a person.

"Perfume is a work of art that belongs to the heritage of privacy" is how your essence or hallmark.

As Giorgio Armani said, "well chosen fragrance can be a distinctive feature. It is the first thing people see when you walk into a room and the last to feel when you go "

The perfum with its pleasant notes, acts in every way, its aromatic bouquet is able to awaken the desires
deeper and improve mood. It brings back memories and says more about us than it looks.

In the last days Chanel has launched a new film that revives the legendary moment in which you listen to Marilyn Monroe saying :I only wore to sleep a few drops of Chanel Nº 5, a phrase so mythical that has passed into history. It was in 1952, when a 26 years old Marilyn Monroe pronounced those mythical words, making this perfume in a timeless icon, like the character she was able to create for herself throughout her career. She made perfume became a myth when a reporter asked her a key question ...

- What do you wear to bed?
- Just a few drops of N º 5

1964

With phrases like "Perfume announces the arrival of a woman and extends up." Or "A woman without perfume is a woman without future "Coco Chanel conveyed the importance of every woman to have her own scent, a fragrance that defined her. She was the first fashion designer to launch a fragrance and it was because in her understanding of the style and the fashion, it seemed that without  fragrance, the image of a woman was not complete, it lacked the finishing touch to define her personal style.

Shameless, direct, true to her way of expressing the perfume, she gave two ways: As a complement to the image itself, intangible like a jewel that speaks like no other accessory can do about the personality of a woman and, on the other hand, as a weapon of seduction.

1 - How did your interest in fashion?

Since childhood I’ve been attracted to beauty and the aesthetic. I was born in a small town in Galicia (A Cañiza), where you must be prepared to fly out if you want to do something, because if something is there is space and time to think and dream with other realities, so for me, lack is synonymous of wealth "LESS IS MORE".

Films like Cleopatra, Metropolis or the mythical Blade Runner it did that i am dedicating my life  to the world of fashion, but most of I once thought that maybe I was wrong career, never too late to rectify.

2 - What is your leit motiv?

Perhaps the power out of the darkness of your life beautiful things, based on the contrasts, the fact of seeing the light where there is dark as Tim Burton, so always mix completely antagonistic concepts that describe how I like to play in the borden line, creating my own creative universe that began with wedding banquets and funerals in my childhood.

3. ¿Cómo es el estilo  JOsé Castro?
Extravagantemente cinematográfico

3. How is the style of JOsé Castro?
Extravagantly film

4.What resources you use for inspiration?

Foremost film inspires me, and in the end everything around me: a journey, a shopping, a book, a dinner with friends. My Galicia natal and sensations of the past, such as noise from deep, moist forests, birds, wolves ... I draw from my childhood and experiences.

5 - How did you approach the creative process?

My process is always thinking of the receiver, to emotions and invest quite a sensation, so that the result is
a visual gift, not just a collection.

6 - What do you mean when you say that there isn't a culture in fashion in Spain?

Spanish fashion feeds of itself, is more attached to names from the past than the present, ignorance fashion concepts prevents the creation and development of small emerging fashion company to consolidate in the future, because it lacks investment groups (as LVMH) to provide support.

The difference between Spain and Paris or London is that they invest in young designers and promote the culture of fashion. We need to consolidate small and medium businesses that are struggling, and you really need one to promote a business investment either Dominguez brothers, as in the case of Purificicación Garcia, or a creative director or a mark that makes it possible for the company to strengthen the synergies of this work, as Galliano for Dior, Lagerfeld for Chanel.

7 - What film has exerted influence on your career?

The film has made all my childhood, from the television serie Dos Rombos by Francisco Ibañez Serrador: "My terrors Favorite "or as Tuesday, when my parents closed the family restaurant" El Retiro "in Cañiza, Pontevedra, and I went with four years to the nearest village Ribadavia, to see horror films: remember the gloom of space and dark and gloomy corridors that made my imagination. So over the years I have been maturing in taste and type of movies, going from horror to classicsilent film like Battleship Potemkin, or the Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.

8- Una película.
Mejor tres: Harold and Maude, Blade Runner, All about Eva.

8 - A film.
Better three: Harold and Maude, Blade Runner, All about Eva.

9 - How you decide to move From Galicia to Barcelona?

I decided to go to Barcelona because at that time we had one of the best schools in Europe: The School of Arts and techniques in Paseo de Gracia .So I decided to go to this school because it was a name to follow and with many international awards.

Barcelona has been from the outset a breath of fresh air, where the creative freedom and the documentation and search in markets and especially in the trash, as it is one of the cities where even today you can find real
jewelry rummaging through the trash. There I had the good fortune to be accepted into the prestigious RCA, Royal College of Art in London and went to confront my fears, because he didn't speak any English.

10. Any artist or person who has influenced your work?

The truth is there are much  characters that have influenced my codes and languages, but perhaps more relevant Charles Chaplin, for his elegance pulled from the trash, and that clearance and eccentricity, or as the character Sean Joan, or the legendary Ridley Scott's Blade Runner.

Not to mention any time in human history, in which the eccentricity take force creating characters incredible, as Benedictine monks, or the cultures of the world where man is expressed with beauty and elegance,as the natives of the Amazon etc.

11.¿Colaboras con otros proyectos?
Colaboramos con Tous, Iris, Surkana, Kukuxumuxu etc.

11. Do you collaborate with other projects?
We collaborate with Tous, Iris, Surkana, Kukuxumuxu etc.

12 - A style icon.
The large star system 40 and 50, as Bette Davis and Joan Crawford.

13 - You designed one shopping bag by Jose Castro for Bershka what is your opinion about the low cost concept?

The low cost fashion is making everything turn faster, but it is also true that people prefer the garments last
more, who were our greatest enemy before the Chinese, are now our best friend. For them, every day there are many new rich to wear. The world of luxury has grown this year and people are looking for products that mean something noble, as brand icons like the classic Birkin or Chanel.

14 - You have received several awards and your clothes have dressed celebrities from Whoopi Goldberg, Beth Ditto, Paz Vega, to Sarah Jessica Parker in the movie Sex and the City, she wore jeans designed by you. How does it feel when celebrities like Sarah Jessica take one of your creations?

Dressing great artists always has a great media coverage for a brand. In my case, after Sarah Jessica appeared in the movie "Sex in the City" with my jeans, i received many e-mails from all over the world wondering where to buy the jeans, and even, as a result, we considered the start of sale online.

The truth is that be told me long ago that Sarah Jessica wanted to stay with the garment and the press office me requested permission to give it, which surprised me, since I have never fallen from my prototypes, are sacred and are part of my history, over time I forgot and when I reported that the film came out in and before we had received emails from Sarah wearing my jeans at different times of his life.

I never imagined that would end in the film, we have received e-mails from all over the world asking where to buy jeans. Everything is like a cliché within Jose Castro, as the first Spanish designer to participate in this great producción.Thanks to it i start selling it online, where the jeans are the star piece in different washes, this is part of the collaboration we have with interdominios.

15-Your fans know your fixation by Raven Why you love so much this animal?

I remember that I always viewed as a Raven, with all these nuances antagonistic can be beautiful, can
be ugly, it can be elegant and can be ragged, may be a harbinger of good omen as something bad ... and best of all, the number of blacks having their plumage: blue grey ....

16-You created a collection of man, woman, girl and watches for Tous. Tell us how was the experience, would you repeat it?

The truth that Rosa and I met at Marie Claire Awards, where we had been awarded, and ever since we had a meeting point, until he was in my parade of Aurora, in Cibeles, where I said that I would love work with them, and so, we have collaborated on several occasions and of course, I'd love to go because I like all codes and languages of the brand, and where contextualization Bear is a challenge and I love, as well their family and of course his great professionalism, truth that the experience was totally creative, and without waiting nothing in return came a good collaboration.
